For some women, traditional fertility treatments may not be enough to achieve pregnancy. Issues with egg quality are common, and the inability to produce viable eggs can stem from various factors, including advanced reproductive age, hereditary conditions, genetic disorders, reproductive health issues, and stress. In such cases, IVF programs utilizing donor eggs provide a potential solution. Donor eggs can be used to cultivate embryos for transfer to either the intended mother or a surrogate mother.
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) helps women conceive when natural conception is not possible. Factors such as menopause, genetic disorders, reproductive organ issues, and stress can contribute to fertility problems related to egg quality. ART, including IVF with donor eggs, offers an effective option for women experiencing infertility. Donor eggs can be used in IVF treatments and surrogacy programs to help intended parents realize their dream of becoming parents.
We are committed to selecting oocyte donors based on the highest medical and ethical standards. The identity of the donor remains strictly confidential, and donors will not receive any information about the recipients of their eggs. Each donor undergoes a thorough medical and genetic evaluation to confirm eligibility. Before beginning the process, the donor signs an informed consent form, acknowledging that the eggs and any resulting embryos will be legally owned by the intended parents.
01
Application Submission
The donor candidate submits an application form and awaits feedback from the program coordinator.
02
Medical Screening
The donor undergoes a comprehensive medical examination to assess overall health and reproductive suitability.
03
Cycle Synchronization (if necessary)
In cases of fresh embryo transfer, the doctor synchronizes the menstrual cycles of the donor and recipient (either the intended mother or surrogate) using hormonal treatments.
04
Ovulation Stimulation
The donor is given hormonal stimulation to increase the number of mature eggs. At the same time, the recipient’s endometrial lining is prepared with estradiol and progesterone for implantation, in preparation for the fresh embryo transfer.
05
Oocyte Retrieval and Fertilization
Mature eggs are retrieved from the donor in a minimally invasive procedure and then fertilized with the intended father’s sperm in the laboratory. The donor’s involvement ends at this point.
06
Embryo Cryopreservation
The resulting embryos are cryopreserved for future transfer to the intended mother or surrogate. Any viable remaining embryos are also frozen for potential future use.
We will be happy to answer all your questions.
A woman between the ages of 20 and 35 who wishes to help infertile couples by participating in an egg donation program may qualify as a donor. The ideal candidate should be in good health, maintain a healthy weight, refrain from smoking, and be free of serious health conditions. The donor will undergo a thorough medical evaluation to test for various diseases, including HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, gonorrhea, chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, ureaplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, and genital herpes.
Although it is possible to donate eggs every menstrual cycle, we recommend a minimum of a two-month break between donation cycles. This ensures the donor’s ovaries have enough time to rest and recover.
At birth, females have about 300,000 eggs in their ovaries. Over a woman’s reproductive lifetime, only about 500 eggs are used for ovulation, while the rest naturally undergo resorption (atresia). Given the large reserve of eggs, there is no risk that egg donation or the medications used will deplete the ovarian reserve to the extent of causing premature menopause.
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. All information related to the donation process is kept confidential. The recipient couple signs a legal agreement that prevents them from attempting to identify you and acknowledges that no future relationship will be formed between you and the child. While they will not know your identity, they will receive general information about your physiological characteristics, such as height, weight, phenotype, appearance, and any hereditary or genetic conditions (if applicable).
